Kayne West: Taking candy from a baby
Sep. 14th, 2009 07:34 amIt is no great secret amongst my circle of RL friends that I am not a fan of Taylor Swift. IMO, the barb that Dorothy Parker directed at Katherine Hepburns acting could more accurately be pointed towards Ms. Swift's vocal range: ie. "She covers the gamut from A to B". It is (again, this is my opinion) incredibly narrow, and does not seem to compass more than 1/4 of an octive. Which may be one of the reasons for her popularity, the public can see themselves in her and think 'hey, if she can do it, why not me?"
With that said, she appeals to many and may have some talent as a songwriter.
Regardless, last night was her moment and it was an award based on popular vote, not critical judgement. And the public loves her. Plus she is a kid, 19.
There are many forums for expression one's opinion (Blogs, Twitter etc), but those forums do and should belong to the individual expressing them. The award stage belongs to whomever the award is given too.
The asshole known as Kayne West, as most everyone knows, bum rushed the stage and humiliated Ms. Swift in a forum that he did not own and that he was a guest in (an un-nominated guest in this category, it should be added). Then to add insult to injury, he apologizes on his blog, but it is no apology, he just restates what he said and calls his actions "keeping it real"
Here's a real news flash for you Mr. West (not that he would ever see this but judging from Beyonce's class act and the BOOS' Mr. West got, if he wasn't so trapped inside his own oversized ego which seems to reside up his rectum, he'd know this already). You trashed a teenage girl in front of millions of people. A teenage girl who did nothing wrong other than having greater success than your own.
Also, an apology is admitting what you did was wrong. It is NOT stating people Boo'd me and this is why I did it.
Learn the difference. Shithead.
