George Clooney for the win. On gay marriage etc.

George Clooney along with many other actors participated Saturday night in a reading of "8".  For those who don't know this was the trial in CA that repealed the ban on gay marriage.  The opposing side (those against gay marriage/rights) has succcessfully sued to keep the video of the trial from public view, but they cannot surpress the transcripts.

The transcripst show that the defendents had no case, no proof that gay marriage would undermine heterosexual marraige; indeed they come off as bafoons.

I have not cared much one way or the other for Mr. Clooney, but Saturday night went a great deal to making me like him.  His interview today went a further in making me love him.  This is what he had to say about rumors that he is gay.


 “I think it’s funny, but the last thing you’ll ever see me do is jump up and down, saying, ‘These are lies!’ That would be unfair and unkind to my good friends in the gay community. I’m not going to let anyone make it seem like being gay is a bad thing. My private life is private, and I’m very happy in it. Who does it hurt if someone thinks I’m gay? I’ll be long dead and there will still be people who say I was gay. I don’t give a s_ _ _. ”

You know what, other stars need to follow this example; like Matt Heterosexua actor Morrison, who in EVERY interview he gives makes it a point to say he's straight or mention the woman he is dating.
