Geez, it was in the 70's earlier this week, now it is 46 for the high and raining (with thunder etc).

Someone explain TX weather to me please?

Anyway after a nap (cause fever had my sleep cycle messed up yesterday), I have a fire going and I am drinking the 1st of my warm milk drinks:

Mix equal parts of almond milk, and skim milk in a mug, heat thru, add about 1/4 ounce grated dark chocolate and stir.

Later I'm going to try warm milk with caramel and cognac.  Here's the recipe:

Ingredients

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup Cognac
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream, beat to soft peaks

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, bring milk just to a simmer. Remove from heat and cover to keep warm.

In a large wide pot, combine sugar and water; heat over medium heat, stirring, until sugar disolves. Continue to heat without stirring until mixture becomes light amber, 8 to 10 minutes more. Slowly and carefully add the hot milk to the sugar mixture (mixture might bubble). Reduce heat to low; gently simmer mixture, whisking constantly, until mixture is frothy and well combined, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and add Cognac.

Ladle warm milk mixture into warmed heatproof glasses or cups. Top with whipped cream. Serve immediately.

On the stove we have pasta, bean and sausage soup, that will do it for supper I think.

So sipping warm drink in front of the fire (duraflame logs) and re-reading parts of "The Yiddish Policeman's Union".
