The nephew has a boyfriend!!!
Mar. 16th, 2012 07:59 amAnd he's bringing him home to meet us, for spring break.
This is going to be an interesting week. I asked him if he wanted me to tell my parents (who are still in denial as "he's choosing to be gay, he'll change his mind and be saved from eternal damnation if we and our prayer group pray hard enough."). He said "no, I'll tell them."
And I have no idea how they'll react. With their usual denial or disowning him? Yelling? I don't know.
His parents, will be passive, and say they are accepting (and maybe they are) but they won't defend him against his Grandparents or interevene. That has always been left up to me.
My Aunt and Uncle (who moved down here from Chicago) are on "our side' and will show it.
Granted, the nephew said he wanted to introduce 'us' (meaning me and my guy) to the BF (and Aunt and Uncle), so it may just be telling grandparents and parental units over phone, not a meet and greet.
Who knows?
