I was at a party this weekend at friend of a friend's house and I was aghast. Not one book, anywhere. At some point the subject of what we were reading came up (not by me, mind) and our host and hostess said they had never read a book since college, and most likely not even then if they could use Cliffnotes.
I just don't understand that.
Our host asked me how many books I had read. Who can count that? I had no idea.
Anyway....To me, as much as I am a moviebuff, I'd rather read than most anything (watch TV, movies, etc).
To that end, I have finished all of Henry James' works, read Stephen King's Bag of Bones (which I rather liked even if it didn't frighten me in the least). I am now working my way through Raymond Chandler's novels. And Martha Grimes has a new novel coming out next month..YAY...
